Additives are found in all processed foods, but how do you know what the additives are? Do you know that some additives have known side effects and are banned in other countries? Have you noticed manufacturer’s tricks on their packaging, so that you think you don’t need to read the label? There is so much information on the internet about additives and there are many books on the market.
Our community page aims to complement these, and encourage parents and caregivers to think about what they are feeding their children, and to make better choices.
We believe health is vital to living, and being able to easily and regularly make good safe food choices enhances your health. We are passionate about the health of our children, and after realising that there are so many additives in our food that are harmful to our health, determined to do some more research and advocate for safe foods.
We determined to stand up and share the knowledge we learnt with other parents to help them make informed decisions about safe and healthy foods for their children. Safe and healthy food for children involves more than making sure kids “go for 2 and 5″, get lots of fibre, reduce sugar intake, lower fat intake and the myriad of other current advice available on children’s eating habits.
Our community page is aimed to share knowledge and facilitate discussion on safe and healthy foods and to make it easy for families to eat safely, thereby protecting the health of our children. And hopefully we can help make shopping for safe foods easier, once you know which additives to avoid.
